Decision 2013: Sargsyan ready to receive Hovannisian, spokesman says

President Serzh Sargsyan is ready to receive Raffi Hovannisian "at any convenient time" for his opposition challenger, spokesman Armen Arzumanyan told local media.

Addressing his activists and supporters in Yerevan's Liberty Square last night, Hovannisian, who disputes Sargsyan's reelection in the Monday ballot, suggested that the incumbent meet him to start "the transition of power to the people".

Arzumanyan told Panorama.am that President Sargsyan has always been willing to meet leaders of all political forces as far as it is needed. "And in this case there can be no exception, especially when the matter concerns a politician who placed second in the presidential election."

The spokesman, however, emphasized that all international observation missions have evaluated the 2013 presidential election as "the best in the history of independent Armenia."
