Pupils in French school in Turkey's capital Ankara are being taught history by textbooks that present the Armenian Genocide, Samanyolu web site reports, adding that Turkish children are studying in the school as well.
The text book of Ankara's Charles de Gaulle school has a section – Armenian Genocide 1915-1916 – that says, "About 1 million Armenians were killed during the first genocide of the 20th century. Till the clashes 2 million Armenians were living here."
The text book says in 1915 Union and Progress party representatives were conducting secret meetings to discuss the genocide organization issue. The book has been revealed by MP from Ankara Ozcan Yeniceri. "Who has approved the text book, are you aware of this section of the book, if yes what steps have been undertaken?" the MP asked.
