The national soccer team of Italy, which is a rival of Armenia in Group B of the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying tournament commencing in autumn, has reached the final of the European championships in Poland/Ukraine after stunning Germany in a dramatic semifinal on Thursday.
Two goals from Italy's striker Mario Balotelli (giving Italy a 2-1 win) sent the Bundesmannschaft out of the tournament in which they were considered one of the likely winners.
Armenia head coach Vardan Minasyan, who recently returned from Poland where he watched his side's immediate rivals, including Italy, praised Squadra Azzurra in an interview earlier this week.
"Of course, I knew that Italy were a very well organized and skillful team, but I had another chance to see it for myself," the Armenian specialist said.
