Politics Karabakh way, or uncontested elections: No rival yet comes forward against incumbent president at July elections

April 20 is the date set for the start of nominations in the July 19 presidential elections in Nagorno-Karabakh. Only incumbent President Bako Sahakyan has so far stated his intention to run for another five-year term in office.

Despite the fact that Sahakyan is not affiliated with any political party, at the last elections in 2007 he was supported by all parliamentary parties. It is not excluded that the same will take place this time around as well. Some analysts even suppose that Sahakyan in the presidential elections in Karabakh this time may be uncontested.
