The young men who was earlier reported to have brutally killed his grandmother with axe had mental disorders caused by a childhood disease, the paper has found.

The mother of Aram Sukiasyan, 19, has told the paper that her son had acquired disability in the aftermath of a serious disease several years ago, and at the time of committing the murder did not realize what he was doing. According to her, Sukiasyan did not even give testimony at the police.

“He has second degree of disability as he suffered from encephalitis – inflammation of brain – in childhood. That is why he was exempted from army enlistment,” she was quoted as saying.
