le=”text-align: justify; “>The opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) released a statement condemning the incident in Yerevan’s Mashtots Park on Sunday.
“Yesterday, police illegally attacked the environmentalists in Yerevan’s Mashtots Park. A number of citizens received bodily injuries. That initiative by the environmentalists, its consistency and achievements, might have proved to be one more brick in building up civil society in Armenia, which actually exhausted the ruling administration’s patience. The formation of civil society, developing public initiatives, their struggle to resolve individual problems and against the authorities’ unlawful acts – all this is actually the greatest threat to the ruling regime.
