During former chief of Road Police Margar Ohanyan's trial on Tuesday the prosecutor demanded eight years' imprisonment and confiscation of half of his property.
Ohanyan is charged with power abuse and misappropriation of state property and has been in custody since August 30, 2011.
The hearing of Ohanyan's case was held at capital Yerevan's Kentron and Nork Marash General Jurisdiction Court; Road Police personnel Stepan Karakhanyan, Ara Levonyan, and Samvel Makhmuryan are also defendants in this case. The prosecution demanded six years for Karakhanyan and five years each for Levonyan and Makhmuryan.
The next hearing is scheduled for April 17 during which the attorneys will say the word of defense.
