They Said, He Said: Another incident of improper behavior by an official alleged on Monday

In a verbal clash outside a church on the grounds of Khor Virap monastery Monday, Armenia's Head of Corruption and Organized Crime Department of the General Prosecutor's Office allegedly referred to a group of oppositional activists – including family related to a victim of the March 1, 2008 election violence — as "world-class whores".

Koryun Piloyan's office denied that the prosecutor said such a thing. "He does not use such words, and he is not a person who would act like that," an assistant told ArmeniaNow (Piloyan was not available). On a follow-up call, press secretary Sona Truzyan confirmed that Piloyan was at Khor Virap Monday with guests and that when approached by members of the (oppositional) Armenian National Congress, the prosecutor "responded appropriately".  Read more...
