Armenia’s economy is in a catastrophic condition, former Armenian Prime Minsiter Hrant Bagratyan has said.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Bagratyan said that the data on situation in the economy published by Armenia’s National Statistical Service is untrue.

“The condition of Armenia’s economy is catastrophic,” said Bagratyan. “Can you imagine how much the chief of the statistical department has been beaten – in the true sense of the word – to show a zero [economic activity index]?”

Earlier on Wednesday, Armenia’s National Statistical Service published data, saying that the economic activity has remained the same in 2011 compared to the previous year: zero economic activity.  Read more... (192 words)
