Restaurants play Azeri music with Armenian words - musician

What we hear in Yerevan restaurants today is Azerbaijani music with Armenian words, the director of the State Chamber Choir has said.

“This is the third generation in the past 20 years that suffers a moral degradation. They don’t even suspect that what they hear has nothing to do with Armenian [music],” Armen Arabyan told Tert.am.

The musician complained about TV channels, which, he said, mostly broadcast music with eastern, oriental elements. He recalled that TV channels used to have commissions of special experts and stressed the need of having them now.

“Civilized countries have such commissions. And even restaurants in Armenia used to have them,” he said.
