Graffiti Makes Its Way to the Yerevan Metro (VIDEO)

Graffiti has long appeared on railroad boxcars and subways in cities around the world, including New York, London and Moscow. Now this “phenomenon” has come to Yerevan: unknown graffiti artists have tagged a handful of Yerevan subway cars, writes David Aryan on Yerevan.ru.

In the hope of getting more details behind this fairly new canvas chosen by artists, Aryan contacted the Yerevan Metro press service. Press secretary Ninel Vardanyan first asked what is “graffiti,” then refused to comment with the director being informed. For two weeks, she responded to the author’s questions with “I refuse to comment. This is simply absurd. We don’t respond to such questions. I am not confirming this incident.”
