The strategic development project of Armenia’s southern tourism corridor envisages no construction of hotels and restaurants there in an attempt to properly preserve historical items.
The project, designed by Armenia’s Ministry of Economy, National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia and international AECOM Company, was unveiled on Thursday and is considered to be and most importance roadmap of the development of Armenia’s tourism.
Speaking to journalists, Bekor Papazyan, the President of the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia, said that tourism will have a bigger share in the country’s gross domestic product after the implementation of the project.
It will also create new jobs and improve the living conditions of the people living in rural areas.
