Tachat Vardapetyan, an MP from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), told journalists on Monday that student strikes are an unacceptable means of struggle.Javakhk Armenians must not be involved in the struggle as well, he said."Javakhk Armenians are people of dignity, but they have come to Armenia to study and shown their chivalrous disposition," he said."I have met with Gevorg Melkonyan, Assistant to Rector of Yerevan State University. He said that by saying 'bring the Akhalkalaki guys forward' he did not mean the students, but the policemen," Mr Vardapetyan said.Asked about RPA-organized events and students forced to take part in them and, on the other hand, events organized by students not affiliated with the ruling party and obstacles put to their activities, Mr Vardapetyan said that being members of different parties does not mean splits."We can cooperate for our nation's sake. The RPA gatherings are not aimed at any other force or government p rocess," he said.He noted that Serzh Sargsyan's re-election as Armenia's president should be admitted."A reconciliation process is going on. We can see the number of people at rallies decreasing. I am calling for tolerance," he said.
