Karabakh leader Bako Sahakyan has congratulated Armenia's incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan on his re-election in a Monday ballot apparently disputed by the main opposition challenger.
In a message addressed to Sargsyan, Sahakyan said: "Knowing you as a person, statesman and politician who puts the nation's interests above everything else I am confident that you will direct all your efforts, life experience, knowledge and skills to strengthening the Armenian statehood, reinforcing the country's defense capability and implementing of national programs."
According to the preliminary results released by the Central Election Commission of Armenia, Sargsyan received about 59 percent of the vote, while his closest rival Raffi Hovannisian got about 37 percent.
