Andrias Ghukasyan, a candidate in Armenia's presidential election who polled less than one percent of the vote in the Monday election, will end his month-long hunger strike today, his campaign manager said.
Armen Grigoryan told local media that the candidate's condition is stable and after completing his action in late afternoon Ghukasyan is planning to join the civil movement.
The 42-year-old director of Radio Hay has been camped outside the National Academy of Sciences building since January 21 protesting incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan's participation in the election and demanding that international observers stop their monitoring missions in Armenia.
The Central Election Commission announced today that according to preliminary results Sargsyan was reelected in the February 18 election.
