By 2020 the Armenian wine is expected to appear as a national brand that will not concede to the European one, winemaker Karo Hakobyan told the reporters today, on the World Wine Day.
Hakobyan said wine is not alcoholic drink it has with 800 useful components.
"The government has declared the development of wine-mining as a priority. In our country the sphere is being regulated by law About Grape and Wine," Karo Hakobyan said.
The Armenian government is carrying out a number of programs to make Armenian wine famous in international markets. "As of today, small volume of Armenian wine is being exported to European countries," he said, adding that Armenia provides a document for the wines exported to Europe.
Hakobyan said many enterprises are armed with up-to-date wine-making devices. "The control of high quality wine is very important. In Europe if more wine has been received than the established volume, it means it is of low quality as not all the standards have been maintained," Hakobyan said, adding that in Armenia as well the additional volume will be controlled as a part of fighting against falsifications.
