Chairman of the Armenian opposition 'Heritage" party Raffi Hovannisian's visit to Azerbaijan ended in scandal on Friday as he tried to impede the adoption of a declaration supporting Azerbaijan's "territorial integrity" at the 7th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties held in Baku.
Hovannisian expressed his disagreement with the text of the declaration, noting that the document was one-sided, but his speech faced a protest reaction from Azerbaijani delegates who started pounding their hands on tables. “For me it is clear that Nagorno Karabakh has the right to be recognized," said Hovannisian to Azeri mass media.
