An annual banquet in the Russian capital of Moscow organized by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund has raised $12.1 million in pledges for the charity carrying out activities for the benefit of Armenia and Karabakh.
According to the information posted on the Fund's official website, the fundraising banquet in Moscow on Thursday, which was held ahead of the November 22 Thanksgiving Day Telethon, had brought together about four dozen Armenian businessmen based in Russia.
The event was attended by Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan, who is a member of the Hayastan Fund's Board of Trustees. Among senior guests were also Armenian Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, His Eminence Archbishop Ezras Nersisian, the head of the New Nakhichevan and Russian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Armenian Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Executive Director Ara Vardanyan.
