Parajanov film to be shown in Turkey as part of events dedicated to Sayat-Nova

Armenian filmmaker Sergey Parajanov's movie, the Color of Pomegranate, is expected to be shown in Turkey as part of an event initiated by the local Armenian Culture and Support Union.

The film show is due to be screen at the event dedicated to the 300th birthday anniversary of Sayat-Nova, a 18th-century Armenian bard, scheduled for November 25, reported the Istanbul-based Armenian newspaper Agos.

Last week Turkey's Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Gunay announced plans to publish a book about Sayat-Nova in Turkey as part of broader efforts highlighting the importance of publishing works of representatives of other cultures.
