Medicine falsification issue discussed in Armenia

A three-day class has launched today in Yerevan on fighting against falsification of medicine organized by European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Healthcare and Armenia's Healthcare Ministry's Medicine and Medical Technology Expertise Center with the assistance of World Health Organization.
 
Deputy healthcare minister Sergey Khachatryan, addressing the attendees, said the sphere is liberated in Armenia for more than 20 years but has not been appropriately regulated. "Today we have many issues in medicine circulation area in Armenia. Falsified medicine makes part of the unsolved issues with government undertaking relevant measures to settle the problem," he said, pointing to the new law which will be able to regulate the issues existing in the medicine market.
 
Sabine Walser, responsible for fighting against falsification of medicine at the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Healthcare, said they are happy that Armenia has hosted representatives of different countries. "The country that says voices it has such problem is on a right path. Armenia is among them," she said.
 
Hakob Topchyan, director of the Medical Technology Expertise Center, voiced hope that as a result of exchange of rich European experience Armenia will have great achievements.
 
Representatives of corresponding bodies from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan participate in the event.
