An Armenian humanitarian aircraft transporting aid to the Syrian-Armenians as part of the Help Your Brother initiative has been forced to land at the Erzurum airport, eastern Turkey, Sabah newspaper reports.
It was reportedly suspected of carrying military supplies.
According to the Turkish publication, the ANTONOV An-12 aircraft was downed at the airport for security considerations, but the pilot claimed that it was transporting only humanitarian aid.
Earlier, an aircraft carrying 10 tons of luggage had landed at the same airport for security check but later reports said that the landing had been previously arranged.
The second consignment of the Armenian humanitarian aid had been sent to Aleppo via the Syrian Airlines. The luggage, weighing about 2 tons, was flown to the country through the Iran-Iraq air route.
