Turkey's EU minister has complained that France's policies regarding the Armenia Genocide have caused a big harm to the French companies.
Receiving a delegation of Turkish businessmen, Egemen Bagish said the policies of the former French government largely impacted the people.
"Since 2002, France's trade turnover has been $5 billion, the amount reaching $16 billion in 2011. As a result of France's wrong policies, the former authorities caused a big harm to the people, with the French companies having to pay its price," he said, pointing out to the French parliament's bill outlawing the denial of the Armenian Genocide.
Bagish told the guests that he is leaving for France next week to meet with the country's EU minister.
"We are hopeful to restore the historical and brotherly relations and partnership," the Turkish official said.
The French businessmen reportedly agreed to the proposal to "leave history to historians".
