Armenia, U.S. start cooperation in energy sector

Cooperation between Armenia and the United States may reach a whole new level with the signing on October 18 of a memorandum on cooperation in the energy sphere.

The U.S.-Armenia Joint Economic Taskforce (USATF) held its meeting in Yerevan on Thursday.The American delegation for the session was co-headed by Eric Rubin, United States Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs, and Daniel Rosenblum, a senior State Department official coordinating U.S. assistance to former Soviet republics. The Armenian delegation was let by Finance Minister Vache Gabrielyan. The meeting was attended by representatives of various departments of the United States, in particular, the Committee for Nuclear Regulation, the Trade Office and the Agency for International Development.
