Consumers in Armenia are panicked because of recent anthrax cases in Gegharkunik province, in the north-east of Armenia. Despite state bodies' assurances that the situation is under control and there is no chance of purchasing anthrax-infected meat, many avoid using meat products.
Zhanna Gevorgyan from the town of Vardenis says there is no meat on sale in the town.
"But if they resume selling we will, most probably, refrain from consuming for at least a while, because of our concerns of buying infected meat," says Gevorgyan.
