Yerevan mayor meets Italian art critics

Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan received on Thursday a delegation of art critics who have arrived from Italy to attend a sculpture symposium to be held in Shoushi, Nagorno-Karabakh.
Greeting the guests, the mayor extended his gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event, noting that the symposium is a good opportunity to strengthen and develop cultural ties between Yerevan and the cities and towns of Italy.
"The Armenian-Italian relations are on a very high level, with the cultural ties having serious historical track. Yerevan has been collaborating with several Italian cities for decades. I am happy to note that Yerevan and Venice were declared sister cities last year. The Yerevan City Hall is always open for collaboration and ready to discuss proposals on implementing joint programs in the cultural sector," Margaryan said.
Thanking the mayor for the warm reception and praising his and the municipal authorities' assistance in organizing the event, the head of the delegation, Vahe Avetis, said that the Italian specialists have a vast choice of proposals and ideas for developing the historical and cultural values of Shoushi and Nagorno-Karabakh.
Margaryan told the guests that their visit to Yerevan is sure to promote collaboration between the Armenian and Italian art critics, paving way for new and more interesting programs for Yerevan as well.
The delegation includes professors from Italy’s oldest and best known academies of fine arts.
