US congressman enters gay marriage

US Representative Barney Frank married his longtime partner, Jim Ready, late on Saturday, becoming the first US member of Congress to enter into a same-sex marriage, The Boston Globe reported.
The newspaper said the two men were married outside of Boston by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick before 300 friends and family members.
Guests at the wedding included US Senator John Kerry and House Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, according to the report.
Frank, a 72-year-old Democrat, has served in Congress since 1981 and was one of the first openly gay politicians in national office.
Ready, 42 lives in Ogunquit, Maine, where he runs a small business that does carpentry, painting, welding, and other services, the paper said.
