Two Armenians among victims of deadly flood in Russia

Two Armenians were reportedly killed in devastating flash floods that hit Russia's southern region, Krasnodar, late last week.

At least 171 people were killed and thousands remained without shelter as a result of what Russian authorities said was a natural calamity around the town of Krymsk on Friday night.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported on Sunday that among the victims were also two Armenians, who were residents of the Russian city of Novorossiysk. They were identified as Lidya S. Shahbazyan and Hovhannes G. Shahbazyan. No further details were reported.

Meanwhile, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent a telegram of condolences to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over the massive loss of life as a result of the floods.
