EU to allocate €22 m. to Georgia

European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule has promised to allocate 22 million Euros to Georgia.
“I am very pleased to announce that the EU decided to allocate additional financial assistance to Georgia under the program of European integration and cooperation. In 2012, 22 million euros will be allocated. In this way, we want to strengthen our support in the legal system so that it would develop in accordance with the EU recommendations,” the European official said during a speech at the Batumi-hosted international conference, European Way of Georgia – EU and its European neighbors.Fule also stressed the importance of reforming the country's legal system.
“In the final report, we noted the importance of reforming the legal system in Georgia. Eastern European Partnership is a very ambitious project, but at the same time it is flexible and should be adapted to meet your specific needs,” he was quoted as saying.
