Armenia's chess women were unsuccessful in the second round of the FIDE Women's Grand Prix chess tournament in Jermuk on July 18, being defeated by the Chinese.
Elina Danielyan and Lilit Mkrtchyan were defeated by Ju Wenjun and reigning World Champion Hou Yifan.
After the second round Ju Wenjun and Koneru Humpy from India are atop the standings with 2 points each.
The tournament in the southern resort town of Armenia has attracted some of the world's top female chess players – from India, China, Russia, Georgia — and will run through the weekend.
