Armenia to send 35 peacekeepers to Kosovo

A 35-member unit of Armenian peacekeepers will depart for Kosovo on July 6, according to the Ministry of Defense.

The Armenian peacekeepers are to be deployed at the US Bondsteel military camp near the Urosevac town and implement a peacekeeping mission for six months.

The Armenian peacekeepers already once were on a mission in Kosovo under the Greek command. In late 2011, the Greek side reduced their participation in the KFOR operation due to financial reasons and the Armenian peacekeeping unit was temporarily withdrawn from Kosovo.
