Pyunik scored six second half goals to beat Ararat 6-0 in a Round 14 Premier League game on Sunday.
The defeat is the latest in a series of frustrating performances by the once-dominate Ararat cub, which has lost 13 matches while scoring only one victory.
Ararat are now at the bottom of the eight-team league, nine points behind seventh-placed Banants whick lost 2-3 to another struggling team, Ulisses, who are the defending champions.
Pyunik, meanwhile, are in the middle of the league standings, with 18 points after 13 games.
The season's favorite Mika traveled to Kapan at the weekend to beat Gandzasar 3-2 and maintain their six-point lead over Gyumri's Shirak, which beat Impuls Dilijan 2-0.
