Official: Armenia-EU negotiations moving forward

Negotiations are hoped to be completed by end of year that would lead to cooperation among states allowing Armenians to travel within the European Union without getting visas for each country.

Deputy Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, who is representing Armenia at negotiations, said two more rounds of talks are scheduled this year.

"As far as we have already carried out enough work until the main negotiations, in respect of implementation of preconditions, it gives us an opportunity to be optimistic about reaching the implementation of the agreement with the same tempo," the diplomat said, as reported by Tert.am.

Talks on the Association Agreement began in 2010. This month's discussions have included talks over agreement on a deep and comprehensive free trade area.
