Gagik Minasyan, an MP of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) does not see any political overtones behind the criminal charges brought against Armenia's ex-FM, an MP of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), founder of the Civilitas Foundation Vartan Oskanian."This problem is being dealt with from the legal aspects, and no political assessments should be made. After the process is over, something may be clear," he told journalists.
As regards the reasons behind the criminal charges against Vartan Oskanian and Hmayak Hovhannisyan, who are both PAP members and spoke against Armenia's authorities during the elections, Minasyan said: "In any case, this is not the basis for you to think of political overtones behind the problem. I do not rule out that the charges may prove unfounded after the investigation is over."
