Despite being represented in the National Assembly, the Armenian National Congress (ANC) keeps remaining an extra-parliamentary force, says a member of the opposition alliance.
Aram Manukyan of the opposition ANC faction in parliament told Tert.am on Monday that their conduct is aimed at increasing the people's pressure against the authorities.
"The people's pressure is going to be our principal tool; this is why we are convening a rally on June 26," he said.
Manukyan added that the alliance has also considered the possibility of its participation in the upcoming local self-government election, and other organizational issues.
As for the Government's action plan, he said the ANC has not any decision in that connection.
"We haven't seen any Government program," he said.
Asked why the ANC did not exercise it right to attend the cabinet's ad hoc meeting today, Manukyan said they had not considered that issue either.
It is noteworthy that the legislation allows the leaders of parliamentary factions to participate in the executive's meetings.
