The State Revenue Committee (SRC) on Thursday began inspections at the Civilitas Foundation that was set up and was formerly headed by ex-foreign minister Vartan Oskanian, reports the Zhoghovurd daily, quoting the think tank's current head.
"They came from the SRC and went to the accounting department, since our documents are there," Civilitas Executive Director Salpi Ghazarian told the newspaper.
Both Oskanian and Ghazarian had previously been summoned to the National Security Service to testify on money laundering charges brought against the foundation. Both excluded the possibility of any wrongdoing, but refused to give testimony.
Meanwhile, tax bodies have demanded to see Civilitas's financial documentation since its establishment in May 2008.
