Armenian National Congress member on new quality parliament

Leader of the Democratic Homeland party, member of the Armenian National Congress opposition bloc Petros Makeyan said the ANC's presence in the parliament is only partially notable but together with it he cannot insist that the country has acquired a new quality parliament with the presence of the ANC and new MPs of the Heritage.

According to Makeyan, the entrance of the ANC to the NA was a right thing but it should not be expected that the ANC or any other political force will be able to change the situation.

Asked whether at least the ANC creates difficulties for the ruling political majority with its formulations, Makeyan said in 2007-2008 when the ANC had the trust of the people, it had a greater influence and imposed a greater restriction on the authorities than today, being in the National Assembly.

Asked whether the situation in Armenia may be changed, Makeyan said no as "during the recent elections the authorities have turned the people into products and separate feudal barons were deciding their prices."
