Armenian-Azerbaijani war to bury sovereignty of three South Caucasian countries – Georgian FM

The Armenian-Azerbaijani war will bury the sovereignty and independence of the three South Caucasian countries, Georgia's foreign minister Grigol Vashadze stated, referring to the possibility of new Armenian-Azerbaijani war.

"I truly believe that the efforts of the OSCE Minsk group co-chairs will result in the speeded-up settlement of the conflict. But a third force is actively working to hinder the progress of the Minsk Group and keep the tension on the border as long as possible," he said.

Referring to the Azerbaijani-Georgian relations, Vashadze said, "We have issues which are under our permanent limelight and we need a calm work. Any hysteria may trouble it. As to David Gareja monastery complex, the issue is under the focus of the Georgian-Armenian joint commission. But till that the tourists will have an opportunity to visit the complex without impediments," he said.

The Georgian minister also referred to the Nabucco project, saying its implementation is principally important but it is not clear whether it will be implemented or not. "Everyone is saying, yes, Nabucco will be brought to life, but it is being postponed every year," he said.
