Police Arrest Bank Employee on Suspicion of Murdering Customer

Reports from Etchmiadzin allege that an AreximBank employee got into a shouting match with a customer and then stabbed the man with a knife.

The customer, 48 year-old Mayis Khachikyan, later died from his wounds.

The bank employee, Marat Sargsyan, works as a credit specialist at the AreximBank Etchmiadzin branch. It is said that the two got into quarrel during a foreign currency transaction.

Marat Sargsyan is also said to have bundled the body into his car and to have dumped it in a nearby irrigation canal.

Police arrested Sargsyan at Zvartnots Airport.
