ustify; “>President of the European People’s Party (EPP) Wilfried Martens addressed a congratulatory message to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on the victory of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) in the May 6 parliamentary elections.

In his message the EPP leader expressed his regret over the incident during the RPA rally in Yerevan’s Republic Square, May 4, which caused bodily injuries to many people.

In his message Wilfried Martens noted that the 2012 parliamentary elections were largely free and fair. The elections were held under a reformed election law.

This does not mean, however, that democratic reforms have limits in Armenia. Elections showed certain problems in application of new rules, says the message.  Read more... (1302 words, 9 images)
