Vote 2012: Heritage leader says headquarters quibble is not about Kocharyan

Leader of opposition Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian does not agree with the statement made by head of Heritage parliamentary faction Styopa Safaryan, according to which the joint inter-party headquarters of three political forces has turned into second President of Armenia "Robert Kocharyan's campaign headquarters."

Last week, Safaryan stated that the reason of Heritage's withdrawal from the inter-party headquarters, which now consists of Armenian National Congress (ANC), Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), and Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF, Dashnaktsutyun) is that the joint headquarters will ensure Kocharyan's return.

At a press conference on Monday Hovannisian did not want to talk much about the joint headquarters and once again emphasized that the reason why Heritage quit the joint headquarters was that their demand to have the signatures of parties' leaders on the creation of the joint inter-party headquarters was not satisfied.  Read more...
