The Armenian communities in Ukraine have held different conferences, round tables and memorial events to mark the 97th anniversary of the Genocide.
The Party of Pensioners organized a round table that brought together representatives of public and political organizations, national minorities, the mass media, and scientific circles etc.
An orthodox church in an ancient district (which once housed a 14th century Armenian church) of capital Kiev offered a holy liturgy to commemorate the innocent victims. The ceremony then continued at a new Armenian church.
Speaking at the event, Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Andranik Manukyan characterized the Genocide as one of the darkest and tragic chapters of the Armenians’ history, which claimed the lives of 1.5 people, depriving the nation of its huge spiritual and material cultural heritage.
