State Linguistic University students launch new protest

The students of the Brusov State Linguistic University have organized a new protest over the education minister’s controversial decree to sack their rector, Doctor of Philology, Professor Suren Zolyan.

With banners reading “Free, independent Brusov”, “We will never give in”, “Mr. Zolyan, Brusov is with You”, they gathered outside the Government building on Wednesday and later headed to the University.

“What we demand is reinstating justice. If justice takes its course, Zolyan too, will return,” Roland, a master’s degree student at the University, told Tert.am.

After hearing the protesting students outside, Alexander Ghazaryan, the head of the Government’s department dealing with the reception of citizens, said Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan is aware of their demands as he has already received them once.
