Soccer: Preseason favorites go down in Armenian League openers

Armenia's current champion Ulisses and all-time "most titled" side Pyunik got off to a slow start in the current extended league season, having scored no victory in the three rounds of top division championship play yet.

In last weekend's Round 4 of the Premier League (in which the teams technically played their third games this season due to the postponement of the opening round in March over the unfavorable weather conditions) Pyunik suffered a home defeat against last year's runner-up Gandzasar (Kapan) 0-1, while Ulisses lost to Mika 1-2.

The results leave the teams in the sixth and seventh positions of the eight-member league standings, respectively, with each having only one point and only doing better than Ararat that suffered their third straight defeat on Saturday (defeated by Dilijan's Impuls 4-1).
