No Fraud?: Presient Sargsyan dismissed opposition claims of inflated voter lists

At a meeting with university students held in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor on Monday president Serzh Sargsyan responded to the opposition claims of inaccuracies in Armenia's official voter registers, saying that the authorities have not inflated them.

Sargsyan denied any contradiction between recent years' decline of the country's population and a considerable increase in the number of eligible voters the police data show.

"Being absent from the country is not sufficient grounds from removing people from the voter lists, and this is the reason why the number of citizens on those lists is growing. At the same time, being on the list does not necessarily mean taking part in elections," said the president, according to the Republican Party (RPA) press release.
