Armenian opposition candidate sure of victory

le=”text-align: justify; “>The journalist Gayane Arustamyan, a candidate from the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC), who is running for parliament in election district #1 see the ANC as a force forming parliamentary majority.

“All the sensible forces are concentrated in the ANC. If our society refuses to cast votes for an egg box, they will form Armenia’s parliament,” Arustamyan said.

She noted she wants a number of Heritage and ARD-D members to get into parliament.

On the other hand, Arakelyan does not see the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) among parliamentary forces. “None of its members speaks literary Armenian. The PAP is a mixed bag and can find ways. We cannot compare it with the RPA. The opposition will form the parliament provided elections are free of violations,” she said.
