le=”text-align: justify; “>US Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern believes that free and fair elections require every effort before the election date.
Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the USAID/Armenia Mission and the Armenian Human Rights Defender’s Office, Ambassador Heffern said that the US diplomatic mission in Armenia is seeking partners among Armenia’s political forces, civil society representatives and media outlets to assist them in their efforts to hold free and fair elections in Armenia.
With respect to Armenia authorities’ statements on their intention to hold free and fair elections, Ambassador Heffern welcomed them. The US Ambassador also noted that at a meeting at the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan re-affirmed the authorities’ intention.
