Sportswear row: Soccer boss, Olympic Committee in argument over possible national team outfit

An acrimonious row over the choice of outfit for the national soccer team – should it qualify for the Olympics – has flared up in Yerevan after the national body coordinating Olympic sports accused the soccer boss of not sticking to the rules.

At a press conference earlier this month Armenian Football Federation (FFA) head Ruben Hayrapetyan, who is also a member of parliament with the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), said that if Armenia's team qualified for the Olympics, it would be participating in matches wearing the Adidas outfit, for which the FFA has an official contract.
