Oppositionist calls for joint control over elections

The Armenian opposition has to exercise a joint control over the parliamentary elections, the leader of the Free Democrats party has said.

At a news conference on Monday, Khachatur Kokobelyabn called upon all the opposition parties to combat electoral frauds with united efforts.

“The opposition has one problem to solve in the election period. It has to concentrate its proxies and establish a joint control,” he said.
The politician proposed that the opposition parties nominate joint candidates in almost all the constituencies.

“Discussions over frauds unfortunately begin before elections and resume once they are over but no appropriate control is exercised in that period. The reason is the lack of control resources. Just imagine what the outcome would be if the opposition forces were able to ensure the presence of 5-10 proxies in each polling station,” he added.
