March 8: Armenian politicians on ‘wonderful women=?UTF-8?B?4oCZIA==?=and ‘follies of youth=?UTF-8?B?4oCZ?=

le=”text-align: justify; “>International Women’s Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women’s Day, is marked every year on March 8.

Armenia observed the holiday both in the Soviet period and in the early years of independence. In 1996, the day was annulled; it was replaced by April 7, which was celebrated as Day of Maternity and Beauty. Later, in 2001, the day was restored in the calendar. Today, Armenian women celebrate two holidays – March 8 and April 7.

Tert.am interviewed a number of political figures on the occasion.

Armenian politicians turn out to be ready for “acts of folly” for women’s sake.

Hovhannes Sahakyan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), is ready to pick snowdrops for a woman.
