His sons, Karen and Mikael, were members of Armenia’s parliament (the former from the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Dashnaktsutyun – ARFD, the latter from the Republican Party of Armenia – RPA).
This time, neither of Hrant Vardanyan’s sons is running for parliament now. Grand Tobacco has nominated Susanna Abrahamyan and Marina Marabyan, with neither of them known in the constituencies. Both local residents and the RPA were shocked.
Moreover, Yervand Chilingaryan, ex-chief of the Noyemberyan police department, and Varuzhan Babajanyan are running for parliament from the same constituency.
